A Christmas card design by the Swedish illustrator Jenny Nyström from about 1895–97. Children hold hands and dance in a ring around a tree decked with candles, little flags and red baubles, while at the back a baby is lifted high to watch. Walking hand in hand around the Christmas tree is a Scandinavian custom that many families still keep today.
