A Christmas postcard by Jenny Nyström headed God Jul (Merry Christmas). A tomte drives a blue lorry lettered A.B. Nisse Nasse & Co., and the open back is crowded with red-capped tomtar hugging a yellow pig, a three-branched candlestick, parcels and a Christmas tree. Nisse is another name for the tomte, and here Nyström, who painted these little figures all her life, swaps their sledge for a motor truck.
