A picture postcard by the German postcard artist Alfred Mailick: a grandmother in spectacles sits in an armchair telling stories to her grandchildren. On the right are a green fireplace with a blazing fire and a small Christmas tree, and on the back wall a frosted window, a birdcage and a wall clock. It dates from when the back of a card was reserved for the address, so a handwritten greeting fills the blank panel at upper right.
