A small oil by Theodor Hosemann, the chronicler of everyday Berlin life, showing children selling Christmas toys against a snowy wall. A girl in a headscarf grips the handle of a bearded nutcracker figure and holds it up, while on a crate at left stand a doll in white and a little pyramid of striped sticks, with a small fir tree behind. At right a boy sits huddled against the cold.
