Christmas
James Clark
Shown by the English painter James Clark at the Royal Academy in 1902: a young woman carries a Christmas pudding topped with a sprig of holly to a family gathered round the table. The bearded grandfather, a fair-haired girl and the small boy beside the woman at the right all turn their eyes towards the one pudding. The picture was once sold at auction as the work of a different painter, Joseph Clark.
