A pine forest under deep snow, painted by Shishkin in 1890. Heavy trunks stand like columns while fallen trees and undergrowth lie buried in drifts, and a faint touch of sunlight on the trunks at right only deepens the silence. With no people or animals, the picture has many similar white pieces; set the dark trunks first and fill the gaps between them.
