A winter evening in which a round glow breaks through the clouds above a few snow-covered cottages and gnarled old trees. A small bridge with a wooden railing crosses at right, and the light is reflected as a golden blot in the stream below. The green and gold sky and the orange band of trees set against the white snow give the scene its drama; the canvas is signed in Cyrillic.
