The ninth canvas of The Slav Epic: the Hussite preacher Václav Koranda addressing pilgrims on the hill at Křížky in 1419. Beneath a stormy sky the black-clad preacher stands on a wooden cross beside tall pines, a white banner is raised at the left, and far below the plain shines where light breaks through the clouds. The pines, the cross, the banner and the bright plain are the landmarks; the small figures and yellow sheaves below take the most work.
