A poster made for the magazine La Plume's special issue on Sarah Bernhardt in December 1896, marking the actress's jubilee. Bernhardt faces us with a crown of white lilies and a star on her brow, her golden hair streaming down in waves, framed by a starry mosaic halo and the lettering SARAH BERNHARDT curving around her. The white lilies and the letters are the landmarks; the strands of hair fanning out below are joined by following the direction of their curves.
