July from The Months (1899), the calendar series of twelve circular vignettes. A woman with green leaves in her black hair looks straight out, lifting a stem to her lips, a pink drape slipping from her shoulders, with summer foliage overhead and blue water behind. The word JUILLET and the face and dark hair are the landmarks; sorting the green leaves and the pink folds into separate colour groups makes the rest go smoothly.
