No. 10 of The Slav Epic, twenty huge canvases painted between 1910 and 1928: King Přemysl Otakar II of Bohemia (1924). It shows the wedding feast of 1261 that united the Slavic dynasties, the king in gold standing at the centre beneath a tent hung with an eagle emblem, guests in red and white robes around him and a banquet table draped in white cloth at the left. The eagle above and the golden king are the landmarks; the hazy tent folds at the sides are matched by tone.
