London's Houses of Parliament seen across the Thames at sunset, one of a series Monet began during stays in London in 1900 and 1901 and finished in his studio at Giverny. Beneath a sky burning orange and pink the towers dissolve into a blue silhouette, while the river breaks the glow into flecks of colour around a small boat. The canvas is signed and dated 1903 at lower right.
