Mäda Primavesi
Gustav Klimt
Mäda Primavesi, aged nine, painted for her father Otto Primavesi, a banker from Olmütz (now Olomouc) in Moravia and a patron of the Wiener Werkstätte. In a white dress trimmed with a garland of flowers she stands with legs apart and hands on hips, looking straight out, against a lilac wall and a floor strewn with flowers. The white dress is the easiest area; the wall is matched by its scattered flower motifs.
