Christmas Card (Wiener Werkstätte Postcard No. 838)
Arnold Nechansky
Postcard no. 838 of the Wiener Werkstätte, the Vienna design workshop, a Christmas card designed by Arnold Nechansky in 1912. Branches of a Christmas tree fill the whole card, and between the glowing candles hang little figures like ornaments: gentlemen in tailcoats and, at the centre, a woman in a red jacket and a patterned gown. The candles all look alike, so start with the figures and the FROHE WEIHNACHT lettering.
