A Christmas and New Year card of 1880, a small chromolithograph cut into the shape of an artist's palette. Dabs of red, pink, yellow, white, blue, green and brown paint run down the left edge, while a tabby kitten gazes out wide-eyed on the right. The thumb hole and the greeting along the bottom are the easiest landmarks; the plain gold ground takes patience.
