A German Christmas postcard of 1904: a yellow mail coach stands in a snowy street, its horses wrapped in blankets and the coachman waiting on the box with his whip. In front, a bearded postman strides along with parcels under both arms and a letter held in his teeth. At lower right the printed greeting Fröhliche Weihnachten! ('Happy Christmas!') is followed by the sender's handwritten lines.
