A Christmas postcard signed by the American illustrator Ellen H. Clapsaddle, with a 1909 copyright line at lower right. Santa rides in a wicker basket slung by evergreen garlands beneath a cream-coloured airship, beside a sack of toys with a doll, a drum and a trumpet, and sweets spill from a small basket over the snowy town below. The airship and the multicoloured MERRY CHRISTMAS lettering are the landmarks.
