Zodiac
Alphonse Mucha
A woman in profile with a disc of the twelve signs of the zodiac glowing behind her like a halo, Mucha's most celebrated decorative panel. Designed as a calendar for the printer Champenois, it became famous when the magazine "La Plume" used it as a cover. The curling hair and jewels and the Byzantine ornament are Art Nouveau in its purest form.
