A double portrait of Krøyer and his wife Marie strolling with their dog along the beach at Skagen, at the northern tip of Denmark. Her white dress and his pale summer suit take on the blue of the evening, and the rising moon lays a golden path across the calm sea. Sky and sea are almost the same blue, so the horizon and the moon's reflection are the landmarks.
