Three Dancers (Blue Tutus, Red Bodices)
Edgar Degas
Three dancers in blue tutus and red bodices bend and stretch as they adjust their costumes in the wings, drawn in pastel. In his late years, with his eyesight badly failing, Degas simplified forms and laid turquoise, orange and red over one another in broad, heavy strokes. The background is woven from the same colours, so in the puzzle it is easier to begin with the outlines of the dancers' arms and legs.
