Sunflowers
Vincent van Gogh
One of the sunflower canvases van Gogh painted in Arles to decorate the room he was preparing for Gauguin, a bold experiment in yellow on yellow on yellow. Blooms in full flower and heads going to seed share the same vase, so a whole life cycle sits in one jar. It is the most reproduced picture in the National Gallery, London.
