The Lady of Shalott

From Tennyson's poem: the cursed Lady leaves her tower and drifts by boat toward Camelot. Two of the three candles in the bow have already gone out and the tapestry she wove trails over the side. Waterhouse painted the subject three times, and this first version is the best loved.
