The brunette of Byzantine Heads (1897), turned to the right so that she faces her blonde companion. Her dark hair is bound in a headdress of coral-red jewels and gold pendants with a large crescent-shaped earring, set in a medallion of green ground and brown ornament, with white scrollwork on cream paper around it. Face, jewels and the crescent earring are the landmarks; the faint scrollwork is matched along its lines.
