Evening Star from The Moon and the Stars (1902), a set of four tall decorative panels of women adrift in the night sky. In dusk tones of brown and orange, a woman wrapped in dark patterned drapery lifts her arms, a single star rising above her head. The green border with pale violet flowers top and bottom anchors the frame; the softly graded sunset sky asks for careful colour matching.
