Manet's last major painting shows Suzon, a barmaid at the Folies-Bergère cabaret in Paris. Her reflection and the customer in the mirror behind her do not line up with where they should be, and whether the mismatch is deliberate is still debated. Bottles and oranges on the marble and the glitter of the chandeliers convey the glamour of the night.
