A girl has climbed onto a chair to hold something up, and the sheltie is on its hind legs reaching for it. Barber was best known for putting a child and a dog in the same frame, and pictures like this were reproduced endlessly as prints. The girl’s blue dress cuts through the middle and gives you a strong colour anchor.
