Snowball, Marco and Janey
Charles Burton Barber
A white dog and two small spitzes standing on grass. Painted in 1879; Barber kept to the convention of titling a dog picture with the animals’ names, exactly as one would a portrait of people. White, orange and the green ground divide the picture into three colours, which is convenient in the tray.
