A 1928 lithographed crate label for Santa Brand lemons, grown and packed by the Limoneira Company of Santa Paula, California. Santa Claus glances sideways over a huge sack printed with the grower’s name, and at lower right sits a lemon in a Sunkist tissue wrapper. The brand name is a play on the town of Santa Paula; labels like this were pasted on the ends of wooden fruit crates.
