An American Christmas card dated 1916: a snowman in a Santa cap and black boots stands in a snowy field at sunset, holding a golden horn. A rabbit by the fir trees, two small birds on a branch, a sprig of holly and a poinsettia at the foot of the card frame the scene. Below it runs the greeting My Christmas Wish with a two-line verse: For you – the jolliest day / That time has brought your way.
