A poster for Austria's pavilion at the Paris world's fair of 1900, commissioned by the Austrian government. A crowned woman in white lifts a veil above her head, her red-orange skirts flowing downwards, while a column of small vignettes at the right shows the Viennese restaurant, the hall of honour, the Austrian pavilion and other buildings, with an empty panel beneath. The figure on the left and the vignettes on the right divide the puzzle into two clear halves, and the heavy German lettering at the top sets the orientation.
