A woodblock print of around 1905 after a painting by the eighteenth-century Kyoto artist Ito Jakuchu. A red parrot and branch stand out on a black ground; Jakuchu is famous for extraordinarily detailed birds and roosters. With a black ground, start with the red bird and the leaves.
