Winter from The Seasons, Mucha's first series of decorative panels. A woman wrapped head to foot in a blue-green cloak stands among snow-laden branches, cupping a small bird in her hands to warm it with her breath, while another bird perches beside her against a pinkish-grey winter sky. The blue-green cloak makes one big vertical mass, and the dark snow-topped branches are the guides that cut through the pale background.
