A Ferryboat Crossing the Sumida River
Keisai Eisen
A ferry on the Sumida River on a square shikishi sheet by Eisen, 1820s. Passengers in the boat and the village across the water fit into the small frame, with broad blue waves. Eisen is famous for sultry beauties but left many landscapes too.
