Women beat laundry on the rocks of a stream while another combs her hair, and behind a boulder a gentleman half hides his face with a fan as he peeks. Kim Hong-do turns the scholar's feigned indifference into a gentle joke, recording a riverside chore with a few plain, confident lines.
