A Knight Rode On
John Bauer
A knight rides through a forest at blue night. Bauer walked and sketched the forests of central Sweden again and again, and the moss and rock shapes of those real woods are in the picture unchanged. Almost everything is in the blue range, which makes it demanding, though the silhouette of horse and rider is a firm landmark.
