La esposa de un banquero vienés envuelta en pan de oro y plata, la cumbre de la etapa dorada de Klimt. Solo el rostro y las manos están pintados con naturalismo; el vestido y el fondo se disuelven en ojos, espirales y triángulos que recuerdan al mosaico bizantino. Incautado por los nazis y devuelto a la familia en 2006, su historia se convirtió en la película «La dama de oro».
