Rose from The Flowers, the set of four decorative panels in which a woman personifies each flower. Crowned with pink roses in her dark hair, she stands facing us in a pale pink gown with a green jewelled necklace, hands gathered at her breast, while pink, red and yellow roses climb thickly around her on their trellis. The necklace, the face and the tall column of the dress hold the centre; the roses on every side are easiest sorted by colour first.
