Four panels joined: wool, plain weave triple cloth

A textile designed by Morris in 1876: tulips and roses twined among winding stems. Morris said a pattern "should look as if it were growing", and this design follows that rule exactly. Red flowers and green leaves interlock, making the piece boundaries intricate.
