Noblemen and gisaeng enjoy a boating party on a clear river: a boy plays a flute in the bow, a woman trails her hand in the water, and the boatman works his oar, with a cliff across the river for a backdrop. The inscription, "the sound of the evening flute scatters over the waves," sets the mood.
