A horizontal poster for the American Waverley bicycle company of Indianapolis. The brand name runs in large cream letters across a red ground, and a woman in an ochre dress rests her chin on her hand, a laurel branch in the other, beside a wheel. Red and ochre divide the picture into two clear zones, so pieces sort easily by colour; the big letters, the laurel leaves and the small lines of text at the bottom fix their positions.
