La cortesana Arihara, de la casa Tsuruya del Yoshiwara, con dos jóvenes sirvientas, hacia 1797. Los estampados de los kimonos suntuosos y los adornos del pelo llenan el encuadre sobre un fondo vacío. Utamaro es célebre por sus primeros planos de rostros femeninos.
