Pluto in True Color
New Horizons spacecraft
Plutón fotografiado por la sonda New Horizons en su sobrevuelo de julio de 2015, procesado para aproximar el color real. La llanura clara en forma de corazón de abajo a la derecha es Tombaugh Regio, cubierta de hielo de nitrógeno, y las zonas oscuras son depósitos de material orgánico rojizo. Tras nueve años y medio de vuelo, fue el primer rostro nítido de Plutón.
