En la boca del Gran Canal la cúpula de la Salute se alza sobre el agua mientras pasan góndolas y barcazas. Canaletto vendía vistas como esta a los aristócratas ingleses del Grand Tour y usaba una cámara oscura para acertar las proporciones de los edificios. La Venecia de hace trescientos años se ve casi igual que hoy.
