The Marble Boat on Kunming Lake at the Summer Palace in Peking, a boat-shaped pavilion refurbished when the Empress Dowager Cixi diverted naval funds to restore the palace. The photochrom of the 1890s shows it while the Qing dynasty still reigned, white marble and painted railings mirrored in the lake.
