Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Ein Strauß Chrysanthemen, gemalt um 1881. Renoir sagte, Blumen zu malen „lasse das Gehirn ausruhen“, und schob sie zwischen die Bildnisse; hier modelliert er die Blütenblätter in dicker Farbe. Gelbe, weiße und rote Blüten drängen sich zusammen — die Teile nach Farbe zu sortieren erledigt die Arbeit.
